keeping it in...

I sometimes admire those people who can have their personal life turned upside-down and inside-out and then totally keep it seperate from their work life. How do they do that? I am so emotional. I do not mean emotional in the "throw a tantrum if my grande-skinny-hazelnut-latte is not 120 degrees" sort of emotional, but I do wear my feelings on my sleeve.

So how wonderful to learn that my kids are the exact same way...all three of them! So it is no surprise that I caught this picture of lulu at her t-ball game. Hillarious...I felt the same way! Outdoor sports in the summertime in Texas is not a good idea unless it involves a pool.
Be sure to do something fun today!

Something Different

I have had this idea for a while of using bold fabrics as a backdrop, but I didn't have the space for a studio and my kids are too young to keep my equipment out all of the time. All of that changed when pregnant with baby number 3 I experienced an episode of "ultra-nesting" and instead of buying a new crib, we bought a new house.

So finally after a lot of help from two great friends and an awesome hubby, I now have my home studio!!! Yeah! I love the glamour of a studio shoot...the lights, the make-up, and most importantly the air-conditioning. Our sweet friend, Lizz, so kindly let me snap a few shots of her on Sunday with the new fabric I got in last week.

Let me know what you think!

P.S. - Of course, I had to stick to my roots and take her in the backyard for a quick natural light portrait...so pretty!

First Guy of Willi Photo!

Yippee! I shot my first male senior session last week. Here are just a few of the fun pics we captured around downtown Plano. His big sis got in on the action too. What fun!

Sweet Girl

This session in downtown Plano was so much fun! I have never had my family at a session before, but since this is a family friend and she is known for having a "say cheese" smile we just all played together and then I caught her genuine playful spirit! Thanks for a great picnic and portrait shoot P!

p.s. Whoever started that "say cheese" thing anyway???

Class of 2009!

This will be the first season that I will be offering senior photo sessions. I am so excited!!! Right now I am looking for a few seniors from surrounding schools (JJ Pearce, Richardson, Berkner, Lake Highlands, and Pope John Paul II) to get things going.

If you know a senior or if you are a senior who is interested in receiving a complimentary portrait session please e-mail me at angela@willinghamphotography.com.

Point and Shoot

Over the past few months I have not captured many family moments outside of our home and backyard. In February our car was broken into and we were only 70 yards away at soccer practice. Seriously! What in the world are people doing? So I am more cautious with my "nice" camera and no longer keep it with me everywhere I go.

But for Mother's Day I got a little point and shoot camera that I can keep in my backpack and not worry too much.

So here's what I captured at Kaboomtown last week. So much fun and fair food...always a plus! Everyone was watching this crazy person standing on top of a flying airplane. It is so fun to watch a crowd full of people staring up in the sky.
